George Hallett: sound . text . image

Hundreds of independent art and museums spaces were forced to close due to the Corona-Crisis. In this series we are celebrating the fantastic artistic events that are right now sitting behind closed doors. Lay your eyes on the exhibition at BIC Project Space in Casablanca, creating a creative dialogue between photography, music and literature through the photographs of George Hallett.

George Hallett: sound . text . image is the Cape Town-based South African photographer’s first ever showcase in Morocco. The exhibition brings together portraits of pioneering South African jazz musicians, African writers and a collection of colourful compositions created by Hallett for the book covers of Heinemann’s African Writers Series. Those images, dating from the 1960s to 1980s, reveal a compelling creative dialogue between photography, music and literature.
