This contemporary art magazine spotlights encounters between Cameroon and the ‘West’ during more than a hundred years.
JAMAN (Bamum for “German”) is an artistic research project and a comical opera imagined by Christian Hanussek and Salifou Lindou (2010-2012). Poetic and scientific texts as well as cartoons and interviews by various authors from various disciplines contextualise this project and challenge cherished notions of cultural authenticity. JAMAN is the first of a series of special editions published by the European art organisation Enough Room for Space (editors: Marjolijn Dijkman and Annette Schemmel) in collaboration with the Cameroonian artist journal DiARTgonale (editor Achille K Komguem).
