Graduale 13: Symposium and Exhibition

The annual symposium of the Graduate School for the Arts and Sciences at the Berlin University of the Arts (UdK), entitled Perception, Experience, Experiment, Knowlegde: Objectivity And Subjectivity In The Arts And The Sciences,  reflects ways of producing, sharing, distributing, dispersing, revisioning, and reclaiming knowledge in the artistic process.

The keynote introduction on the topic of subjectivity and objectivity, will be followed by five theme panels on Perception (I), Experiment (II), Research (III), Revisions (IV) and Reversions (V) and three lectures where the fellows engage with specialists from the arts and the sciences in conversations, performances or lectures on the role of knowledge within artistic practice. The projects of the fifteen current fellows will be on display with samples, concerts, archive material or documents during the symposium.

As part of these events, Emma Wokulau-Wanambwa will be sharing some of her ongoing research into colonial art education in the form of a staged reading of African Tapestry – the autobiography of Margaret Trowell onSaturday 12 October at 14.00.
