CALL FOR PAPERS: Deleuze AND Guattari AND Africa – SOUTHERN RESPONSES

The two day conference on Philosophers Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari and their relevance for Africa, will take place on 15 July & 16 July at Cape Town.

The philosophy of Deleuze and Guattari unsettles – and raises a host of fundamental philosophical questions for – everything from aesthetics, politics and ethics to geography, biology and even mathematics. Given the highly transdisciplinary nature of this philosophy and its myriad possible applications, we welcome proposals for presentations on any subject, including, but by no means limited to those we have suggested here.

If you are interested in presenting on these or any other themes, please submit a 300-500 word abstract for blind review to deleuzeafrica@gmail.com, along with your affiliation (if any), your contact details and any access, dietary or other requirements you have.

The deadline for submission is the 1st of May 2015. Notification of acceptance will be sent by the 15th of May 2015. Proposals for the delivery of presentations through art, performance, poetry, multimedia or any other mode of creative expression are welcome.
