Hundreds of independent art and museums spaces were forced to close due to the Corona-Crisis. In this series we are celebrating the fantastic artistic events that are right now sitting behind closed doors. Fuckin' Globo is Angola’s leading independent platform for artistic and intellectual discourse. Their latest exhibition features mostly local artists who analyze Angola’s recent economic and political past while renegotiating new social configurations.
Keeping with their motto “From the people to the people… Fuck institutions”, Angolan project Fuckin’ Globo held their 6th exhibition entitled “In the discomfort zone” in Luanda’s former hotel Globo this month. Challenging the limits of their spaces of artistic language, this edition’s artists seized installation, film, video and performance as ways to analyze Angola’s recent economic and political past and renegotiate new social, moral, religious, political, economic and sexual configurations capable of reaching new audiences. The artist selection includes Kiluanji Kia Henda, Thó Simões, Ery and Evan Claver, Verkron, Toy Boy, Lola Keyezua, Indira Grandê, Mussunda N’zombo, Muamby Wassaky, Kapela, Iris Buchholz Chocolate, Yola Balanga, Flávio Cardoso, Rui Magalhães and Pedro Pires.
