Pro Helvetia Johannesburg supports studio and research residencies for both Swiss and Southern Africa artists and cultural practitioners in the areas of the visual arts, music, literature, theatre and dance.

Pro Helvetia is currently taking applications for 2015 studio residencies. Applications can by submitted until 1 March 2014 via www.myprohelvetia.ch for 2015 (applications must be written in English).

Pro Helvetia Johannesburg supports studio and research residencies for both Swiss and Southern Africa artists and cultural practitioners in the areas of the visual arts, music, literature, theatre and dance.

The aim of the studio residency is to find inspiration, establish networks and contemplate new projects and co-operations. In addition to a place to work and accommodation, Pro Helvetia will provide a specialist from the field to support the artist in residence. Pro Helvetia covers the costs of travel, insurance and per diem expenses. Applicants may apply three times in total for a Pro Helvetia studio residency.

Selection criteria includes having a convincing track record (artistic activity above and beyond regional level), context-related motivation, and adequate foreign language skills.
