The  Goethe–Institut  in Nigeria is turning  50 and  the Lagos Live Festival is celebrating with four days filled with international contemporary art, including theatrical shows, artistic performances, photographic exhibitions, dance, video art, installations, talks, and concerts, taking place at the Freedom Park in Lagos.

More than 30 artists from Germany, Nigeria, and other African countries gather together on this occasion and put on a wide range of productions. Goethe opened its first office in a flat on Lagos Island in August 1962. Since then, it has experienced gradual but steady growth, emerging as an important promoter of arts and culture in Nigeria.
