Call for Applications: AMA – mobility fund of artists and cultural operators within Africa

Art Moves Africa (AMA) aims to facilitate cultural and artistic exchanges by offering travel funds to artists and cultural operators living in Africa to travel within the continent to establish partnerships, participate in festivals, artist residencies, productions, workshops and professional development meetings.

 

Who can apply?

Artists and cultural operators living and working in Africa.

 

Which sectors? 

Performing and visual arts, music, cinema, literature and cultural advocacy.

 

What type of projects?

To establish partnerships, to participate in festivals, biennials, artist residencies, productions, touring, workshops and professional development meetings.

 

To go where? 

To travel within and between the African regions:

 

Central Africa: Angola, Burundi, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Congo Brazzaville, Democratic Republic of Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Rwanda, Sao Tomé and Principé
East Africa : Comoros, Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Madagascar, Mauritius, Seychelles, Somalia, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda
SouthernAfrica: Angola, Botswana, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Swaziland, Zambia, Zimbabwe
West Africa: Benin, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, Côte d’Ivoire, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Liberia, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Togo
North Africa: Algeria, Egypt, Libya, Morocco, Tunisia.

Please note that AMA doesn’t support travel within the same African country or travels outside Africa.

 

How to apply?

To apply for an AMA grant you must read the Guidelines and fill in carefully the application form and send it before the deadline, to the AMA office at applications@artmovesafrica.org

The deadline to submit an application for the next cycle is September, 1 2013 (before 06:00 PM WAT*): for travels planned to begin from 1 November onward. Applications submitted before this deadline will get answers on 14 October.
