Art Moves Africa pursues the aim of facilitating cultural and artistic exchange within the African continent. It offers travel funds for artists, arts professionals and cultural operators living and working in Africa.
Art Moves Africa helps these individuals travel within the continent, engage in the exchange of information, gain new experience, enhance their skills, establish and develop informal networks and develop long-term cooperation arrangements. The organisation supports participation in festivals und biennials, artist-in-residence programmes, productions, tours, workshops and training seminars in the performing and fine arts, music, film, and literary and cultural studies. Art Moves Africa also operates the ‘Mobility Hub Africa’, a virtual platform offering information about art and culture in Africa, about art venues and events, about cultural operators and their projects, and a database with information about the mobility of cultural operators within the African continent.
