Transition is a unique forum for critical and fresh perspectives on global issues, literature, art, cultures, and people, with an emphasis on Africa and the Diaspora.
Founded in 1961 in Uganda by Rajat Neogy, Transition quickly established itself as a leading forum for intellectual debate. The current series carries on the original’s far-reaching criticism, both cultural and political. Transition is today a publication of the W. E. B. Du Bois Institute at Harvard University and is published three times annually by Indiana University Press.
