California Institute of the Arts Program in Art seeks applications for full-time faculty positions. The ideal candidates will share the Program’s commitment to diversity and social justice. Ours is an evolving community of regular faculty, visitors, staff and students. Building on the legacy of the Feminist Art Program, the Program in Art was one of the first to reach gender parity on faculty and has long been working to build and sustain a heterogenous, racially, culturally and ideologically diverse group of artists and scholars. We value pedagogical diversity, rigor, inquiry, experimentation and interdisciplinarity. The Art Program faculty’s topics of research and instruction are self-motivated and fluid; areas of current interest include studio and extended genres, gender and queer theory, politics and history of racialization, postcolonial studies, media and new technologies, museum and curatorial studies, social and public practice. Applicants who place emphasis on multidisciplinary practices are particularly encouraged to apply.
