The Centre for Contemporary Art (CCA) Lagos is an independent, non-profit organisation for the visual arts created in December 2007 with the aim of providing a public forum for the development and presentation of ideas and cultural practices in the contemporary visual arts and culture, and of promoting critical work in this context.

Founder/director of the CCA Lagos is the independent curator Bisi Silva. In addition to collaboration with other African and international artists, curators and organisations, CCA Lagos intends above all to contribute to the development and professionalisation of artistic production and curatorial practice in Nigeria and the region of West Africa. Its focus is on works in the new media and experimental visual art – such as photography, animation, film, video, performance and installation – that are still relatively little-noticed in the contemporary art world in Nigeria. With a diverse and inspiring programme featuring lectures, seminars, workshops and exhibitions, CCA Lagos seeks to reach a new art public and to sharpen awareness of artistic and cultural themes throughout the world.
