Artist-in-residence program: Cité internationale des arts, Paris – 2017

The Institut français and the Ministry of Culture and Communication are launching a joint 2017 call for applications for their residency program at the Cité internationale des arts / Paris. The programme is aimed at foreign artists from all around the world who wish to pursue a research project in Paris during a minimum period of three consecutive months.

The Institut français in Paris provides artists with a studio/apartment at the Cité internationale des arts. The French foreign cultural network as well as French and foreign cultural organizations (theaters, art centers, cultural venues -public institutions- associations, multidisciplinary laboratories) must be able to cover the livng and/or travel expsenses for the laureates.

Depending on the project of the artist and the cultural organization, which is the partner, the residency can take place between Paris and another city. It is also possible to propose a residency which starts in Paris and continues in another city of France.

Which disciplines?
This program is aimed at artists in every artistic discipline: Architecture/landscape/urbanism, street arts/circus/puppets, digital arts, visual arts, comics, cinema/movies/video, curating projects, dance/performances; design, litterature, youth book, fine arts and crafts, modern music and jazz, classical and contemporary music, contemporary art performances, photography, theatre.

How to apply?

The application must be filed on the IFprog platform: http://ifprog.institutfrancais.com/fr/login either by the Intitut français / Cultural services of the French Embassies / Alliances françaises located in the country of residence of the candidate or the french cultural organizations of the foreign cultural organizations located in the country of residence of the candidate.

Artists are not allowed to apply on their own.

The submitter shall mention the reasons motivating his choice and explain how he will highlight the residency of the laureate on his return. He will also have to specify financial engagement and/or the financial engagement of other partners involved in the project. The cultural organizations will have to attach to the application a commitment letter which specifies the financial support.
