Txumari Ezpeleta: HOMELESS BUTTERFLY

Greatmore Studios present an exhibition of photographs by photographer and graphic designer Txumari Ezpeleta: HOMELESS BUTTERFLY . We all have a place that brings back memories, that revokes memories of music, color, and pictures – a place where we keep our memories safe and ideal, this place we call home. Homeless Butterfly explores the concept and meaning of home – and its association with shelter. “Homeless people use plastic/blanket and make a wall to live in. Since I have been in this city for just over six months, I noticed there are very rich people and the homeless. Over 20 000 people are homeless, but I don’t like taking pictures of the homeless – so I resorted to making this poetic performative work about HOPE which made me look at the life cycle, evolution and the butterfly” - Txumari Ezpeleta Txumari Ezpeleta's work has been exhibited in different Cities in Spain, France and Cape Town; generally with the creative group "Palau concept". 24 July 2014, 18h00 - Opening 31 July, 18h00 a discussion about the works led by Khanyisile Mbongwa
