transFORM#1: A Contemporary Art Experience

Afriart Gallery, a Kampala based art space has conceived Transform#1 to provide an open platform for selected artists to show their work, uncompromised by the limitations of technology, space and access. Contemporary artists in Uganda work under extremely varied conditions. The Transform#1 show provides a space for exploring our diversity and identity, giving audiences insights into our complexity and thus contributing to our understanding of difference.

For the 2015 exhibition artists list, selected by Daudi Karungi Eria Sane, Henry Mzili, Sanaa Gateja, Helen Nabukenya, Immy Mali, Sandra Suubi, Ronex, Sarah Waiswa and Kwizera.

transFORM #1 will take place in a warehouse behind Nakumatt bukoto in Kampala on Saturday 5th December 2015.

During daytime there will be art appreciation workshops and guided tours as well as a children and adult make your own art programme.

There will also be an art brunch that will allow the art enthusiasts to exchange with the artists and other visitors on recent developments in arts scene.

The evening session is all about music and live performances including Ugandan DJs, and Spoek Mathambo and Aero Manyelo from South Africa.
