Experts from other disciplines and institutions take a look at the exhibition « The Divine Comedy. Heaven, hell, purgatory from the perspective of African contemporary artists. »
The first guest is Dr. Yvette Mutumba Foschungskustodin for Africa at the Weltkulturenmuseum in Frankfurt. Contemporary Art from Africa and the Diaspora, is the particular interest and the specialty of the art historian. During the is tour, she will first illuminate the context of the exhibition and the development of contemporary art from Africa and her perception on an international level. Using selected works Dr. Yvette Mutumba will focus attention on the question of the « authentic African » and how artists break with certain expectations and ideas of the viewer towards art from Africa.
