Presenting a constellation of contemporary artists as temporary travelling companions, this exhibition thematises the state of constant mental and physical displacement.

Detached from their geographical roots, the artists (or their virtual surrogates) appear as perpetual travellers, as residents of incessantly alternating places. Both their personal life and professional quest are mostly situation-based, delicately combining precarity and autonomy. The works they create along the way are thus dependent on variable, location-specific factors.

Travelling should be understood not merely as physical act, but also—or even foremost—as mental act. It sets up a distance between the self and the other, the movement from the familiar to the unfamiliar. Instead of falling back on the notion of home or authentic belonging, the perpetual traveller embraces the trajectory itself, coming to terms with instability and provisionality.
