Afriart Gallery presents a collection of works by Ipoot Joshua from 2011 to 2013.

Artist statement: 

The paintings for the show are a part of a collection of works created during two years of my post graduate studies in the United Kingdom – Newcastle University School of Art and Cultures (2011 – 2013), both my dissertation writing and studio practice focused on the same theme: impact of bride price on the karamojong community. The most significant change in my practice is on use of colour whereas initially my colour application was thick and muddy; there is a shift to purity and transparency. A shift brought by a response to radicle weather and climatic changes. From extremely hot, dry dusty surroundings to Chilly, dump and grey.
