Internship: Assistant at the 10th Berlin Biennale artistic operations office
Begins 15 October 2017, 3 months, fulltime
Founded in 1996, the Berlin Biennale for Contemporary Art has become a prestigious and internationally well-known project by KUNST-WERKE BERLIN e.V. The upcoming 10th Berlin Biennale is curated by Gabi Ngcobo.
Range of tasks
– Processing and managing artists’ materials and the different archives
– General assistance in everyday office administration and international office communication and correspondence (phone, e-mail, Internet, misc. correspondence)
– Assistance in coordinating appointments and travel schedules within the artistic operations office
– Misc. research (e.g. artists, national/international exhibitions, places, subject-related)
– Preparatory measures for artists’ projects
Required knowledge and skills
– Basic knowledge of and keen interest in the contemporary art and cultural scene
– Sound computer skills (Microsoft Office, especially e-mail programs, Word and Excel, misc. web applications)
– Perfect written and spoken command of German, written and spoken command of English or French; an additional language would be welcome
– Organizational talent, flexibility, perseverance, independence resilience, capacity for teamwork, communication skills
– The internship is aimed at students who have not yet completed their studies in the cultural field.
Interns receive a remuneration of 300 € / month.
