After the huge success of the Open call for artistic projects last year, it is announced to go into a third round for 2025! Both established and emerging local artist are given the chance to work on their project with Goethe-Institute during this year. Project ideas come from the artists and they have the freedom to curate it the way they want to.

All art forms are welcome: music, contemporary dance, photography, film, theater, visual arts and many more.

The Goethe-Institute seeks to support innovative artistic and cultural initiatives in Rwanda. Artists from diverse backgrounds and also with little experience are encouraged to apply with concrete project proposals. If selected, they will be supported through the process and a platform will be provided  to showcase the work.

Please apply until April 14th by sending all documents as one PDF to assistant-kigali@goethe.de.

What is expected?

  • An innovative project idea
  • Completed application form
  • Budget plan
  • CV of the project leader
  • Additional references and material
  • Concrete implementation ideas
  • Reliance and motivation to collaborate with Goethe-Institute
  • Provide footage incl. copyrights of project execution

What does the Goethe-Institut provide?

  • Financial support of up to 1.500.000 RWF inclusive of all taxes
  • Event organization for project outcomes Provision of space
  • Support through their network
  • Visibility on their Social Media and website

Who can apply?

  • All artists based in Rwanda that have an innovative project idea. Grantees of 2023 or 2024 are not eligible to apply.

Projects that will not be supported include:

  • Artists seeking co-funders for existing projects
  • Projects that already have other sponsors Continuations of or additions to projects that Goethe-Institut has already funded
