The Museum of Kyoto Annex , Kyoto, Japan
13 Apr 2013 - 06 May 2013
The first edition of the Kyotographie International Photography Festival will be held from April 13 to May 6, 2013.
The Festival will infuse the city during 24 days with photographic images selected from all over the world, being staged in Kyoto-esque sites such as temples and Machiya (Kyoto townhouse). Every year Kyotographie will present high-quality programs from Kyoto to the world.
The exhibition The Golden Age of Japanese Photography (1860-1875) will trace the history of photography in Japan through the collection of Christian Polak, a French businessman and historian of Franco-Japanese relations who lives in Japan. Finally, the Chanel Nexus Hall will present a selection of the work of Naoki. Foreign artists exhibiting at the festival include Kate Barry, Nicolas Bouvier, a selection of work by students at the ENSP in Arles, and a tribute to Malick Sidibé.
