Rele Arts Foundation
Deadline: 30 April 2021
The Rele Arts Foundation Young Contemporaries initiative was created in 2016 to provide a critical and enabling platform for a new generation of emerging artistic talent in Nigeria and around Africa. Since it’s inception, the program has provided the enabling environment for young artists to be part of the evolving discourse on cutting-edge artistic practice, art and activism, and critical issues that impact the immediate Nigerian/African and global contexts. As conversations on art and politics, identity and nationhood, gender and sexuality become increasingly important in Africa, these young artists as concerned citizens address cultural biases that mitigate these topical issues.
For the 2021 edition, we are inviting young Artists from all over Africa to participate in an intense training and mentorship boot camp where the most promising artists will be selected to be a part of the Young Contemporaries 2021 program and exhibition.
