WOMEN, PART TWO: YOU MIGHT THINK I‘M CRAZY BUT I‘M SERIOUS a DANCE PERFORMANCE BY CIE ARTINCIDENCE
Concept: Annabel Guérédrat, Performance: Annabel Guérédrat, Ghyslaine Gau, Ana Pi, Light design: Séverine Riem
»My name is Aunt Sarah … my name is Saffronia … my name is Sweet Thing … my name is Peaches«: In her song »Four Women«, Nina Simone paid an unforgettable musical tribute to the vulnerability and strength of Black women. She and other big names – Josephine Baker, Rosa Parks, Angela Davis, Toni Morrison, Audre Lourde and many more – inspire a queer performance in an interplay with the biographies of the artists involved in Cie Artincidence. Women, Part Two: you might think I’m crazy but I’m serious explores the female body as a political body comprised of fantasies projected onto it. A radical statement between chaos and the transgression of limits. Annabel Guérédrat and her company Cie Artincidence live and work commuting between Martinique and France. Women, Part Two will be presented for the first time in Germany within the festival Black Lux.
