Somerset House Studios is now accepting applications for up to ten new artists to join the community via a number of newly renovated additional studio spaces – two large and one shared solo studios, two private booths and five desk spaces.

Somerset House Studios is devised for artists who are pushing bold ideas, engaging with urgent issues,  pioneering new technologies, and are fully committed to exploring the potential afforded by making work within a highly selective multi-disciplinary community that feeds a public programme. Applications are welcome across all disciplines including but not limited to visual art, music and composition, performance, dance and live art, fiction and non-fiction writers, fashion, film and those working at the intersection of art and technology.  The overall balance of artists is an important factor in selecting new residents.

Somerset House particularly interested in receiving applications from women working with technology, and also from collectives to occupy one of the larger solo studio spaces.

To apply, please complete this application form no later than 18.00 on Thursday 31 August 2017.

Shortlisted applicants will be invited to view the spaces and discuss their application on one of the following dates: Monday 25, Tuesday 26 and Thursday 28 September 2017.

Please note that if your application is successful, you will be offered a studio or desk space and issued with an agreement and details for how to pay a deposit of £200 inc. VAT or 1 months’ rent inc. VAT (whichever is the greater sum). In order to secure your studio space, you must return a signed agreement along with proof of your deposit payment within 10 days of receipt of your offer.

Studio spaces will be available from 01 November 2017. By submitting an application, it is assumed that you are available to take up the space from that date.
