Open Call for projects: Borders, Borderlands, Crossings
Between the Seas and 1927 art space, Athens, Greece Deadline: 15 December 2019
Between the Seas (www.betweentheseas.org), an Athens-based cultural organisation promoting exchanges across the Mediterranean, is launching a call for project proposals on the theme of Borders, Borderlands and Crossings.
The call is open to artists, researchers and activists from all over the world. Selected projects will be hosted in the Spring of 2020 at 1927 art space (www. 1927online.art.blog), the organisation’s venue located in Kypseli, one of Athens’ most multicultural neighborhoods.
With Borders, Borderlands, Crossings, the team of Between the Seas seeks to address one of our time’s most pressing issues: the right to human mobility along with the politics and policies that hinder it, the historical constructedness of borders and the shaping of histories and identities as a result of mobilities. We are looking for projects in the field of visual and performing arts as well as proposals from researchers, activists and professionals. Ultimately we are interested to create a laboratory of thinkers and artists that will approach the topic from a variety of viewpoints that will reveal the complexity and richness of the topic.
The deadline for submissions is December 15th.
