Mediators for the 10th Berlin Biennale for Contemporary Art

Founded in 1996, the Berlin Biennale for Contemporary Art is today one of the most important forums of international, contemporary art in Germany. Currently preparations are underway for the 10th edition curated by Gabi Ngcobo. The duration of the exhibition is from June 9 to September 9 2018. As of May 2018,the Berlin Biennale is looking for mediators who will conduct moderated talks during the exhibition period from June 9 to September 9 in the exhibition and who will take part in the preparatory multi-day training for the 10th Berlin Biennale.

Period: from May 2018 to September 2018

Tasks in this field include

•Intensive research and processing of information on the exhibited works of the 10th Berlin Biennale and the curatorial concept
•Moderation of dialogic tours with visitors at the exhibition
•Design and implementation of a rhythmically structured framework of the dialogic
tours
•Flexibility and ability to focus on different concepts of mediation, such as
participatory, critical, artistic, action-oriented and / or instruction-oriented
•Regular professional and content-specific exchange within the team

Required knowledge and skills

•University degree in a relevant field of study or comparable professional experience
•Knowledge of the international contemporary art and culture scene
•Experience in dealing with groups and in the field of art and cultural mediation
and education
•Secure knowledge in two languages
•Independent and pro-active, responsible work manner / strong work ethic,
teamwork capability, flexibility, resilience, excellent communication skills required
