Palais de Tokyo announces the first edition of its new performance festival: DO DISTURB. Non-stop festival with 60 events: concerts, performances, video projections and more.

For this first edition, Palais de Tokyo has invited guest contributions from MoMA PS1, Tate Modern, Matadero Madrid, Centre national des arts plastiques (CNAP, Paris),  49 Nord 6 Est – Frac Lorraine and Berghain (Berlin), which have partaken in curating the festival.

Alongside the weekly programme of performances at Palais de Tokyo, DO DISTURB will be held annually. It strives to become a unique gathering fostering intense debate on the multiplicity of approaches in performance and aspires to become a novel stimulating event for the public.

Starting at 6pm on Friday, April 10, both at night and during the day, 70 international artists will take over Palais de Tokyo until 8pm on Sunday, April 12. At the crossroads between dance, music, video and performance, they will provide an insight into contemporary forms of the performing arts, breaking down barriers between artistic disciplines and pushing boundaries. The programme features new creations, works being premiered in France and unmissable performances.

DO DISTURB sets out to change proportions, shake up accepted practices and upset the norm. It is about challenging attitudes, tricking and shifting mindsets, but also just playing with the codes because it is meant to be a moment of sheer pleasure, sensation and celebration.

The excitement begins right at the entrance to Palais de Tokyo, and continues on through the night with two events. On Friday, April 10—DJ sets by Julie Tippex. On Saturday, April 11—Berghain’s first off-site event at Palais de Tokyo.
