Delali Amegah: AFROPEAN GIRL

Delali Amegah invites to her upcoming photography exhibition, AFROPEAN GIRL, an exploration of visual storytelling as a tool of liberation for Black women in the diaspora. The exhibition will take place at the gallery Zimmer48 in Kreuzberg, Berlin from the 19th to the 20th of July, with a vernissage on the 19th of July at 18h30.

The exhibition is part of Amegah’s master’s thesis, exploring how visual storytelling can be used as a tool of liberation and representation for Black women in the diaspora.

Growing up in predominantly white spaces, Amegah often felt invisible and misunderstood. AFROPEAN GIRL is her way of reclaiming her narrative. This project is dedicated to all the Black women who continue to fight for their place in the world and to those who seek to understand our journey she says.

The exhibition was made possible with the support of VIA Regional Berlin/Brandenburg, the external coordination and specialist office of the district partnership for democracy in Berlin Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg.

Book your free ticket to attend (valid on both days) on here.
