Bouchra Khalili wins SAM Prize for Contemporary Art 2013

The members of the SAM Prize for Contemporary Art comittee 2013 – Jean de Loisy, Jean-Hubert Martin, Sandra Mulliez, Chantal Pontbriand, Jérôme Sans, Laurent Le Bon, Clive Kellner and Alexia Fabre – announced Bouchra Khalili as the winner of the SAM Prize for Contemporary Art 2013 for her new project  Foreign Office .

Foreign Office is a digital film project, a survey on the utopia of the International Section of the Black Panthers Party in Algiers, founded in 1969 by Eldridge and Kathleen Cleaver, and active until 1972.
Bouchra Khalili will profit from a bourse and an exhibition at Palais de Tokyo in Paris in december 2014, as well as the publication of a catalogue.??The SAM Prize for contemporary art is organised by SAM Art Projects, a private initiative with the goal of promoting and defending contemporary artists, all along favouring the cultural exchange between the French artistic scene and artistic scenes of countries that are non-European and non North American.
