Deadline: 15 February 2016

ARTerra Residency

Gerda Ritzmann & Erika Diserens

ARTerra is an artistic residency located in Central Portugal in the green and friendly village of Lobão da Beira. The residency aims is to be a place where artists can work and develop their projects and where cultural and ideas exchange can take place.

It is a private initiative but has partnerships with the Town Hall and other interesting community entities: they have been active in the Tondela district for quite a few year.

During their stay at ARTerra, the artists will be hosted in the main house with a fully equipped kitchen at their disposal and rooms of different size (they can accommodate up to 4 people) for individuals or groups. On offer are three studios and a recording room to the residents. The studios, surrounded by a big garden, a small animal yard and an orchard, are spacious and bright spaces perfect to do some research and develop your project in a very relax and comfy environment.

ARTerra have a workroom in the main square of the village where small exhibitions, talks and performances can be presented. The residency has built during the years a strong relationship with the people of Lobão da Beira who are open and curious about ARTerra artists’ works and are willing to participate in their ongoing projects.

Accepted are applications from artists who work in all disciplines and at any stages of their career.

The “Call for Artists 2016” will be open until the 15th of February 2016. Artists can be hosted at every stage of their career and working with different media and in different discipline (for instance; painting, sculpture, music, theatre, writing, dancing, visual art etc..).
