Literaturhaus München e.V., Munich, Germany
16 Jan 2019
Felwine Sarr, economist from Senegal, is one of the most discussed thinkers in Africa. He vehemently demands the final decolonization of the continent. The art historian Bénédicte Savoy (currently on the advisory board of Emmanuel Macron) was a member of the expert commission of the Berlin Humboldt-Forum, until she sharply criticized the provenance of the house. Two leading intellectuals present the essay »Afrotopia« (Matthes & Seitz // German by Max Henninger) and discuss colonial art in Western museums and a new African self-confidence.
