For her performance, Kapwani Kiwanga is posing as an anthropologist from the future:  Kiwanga reflects on some major themes in Afrofuturism and its role in the development of the United States of Africa Space Agency.

Plunging into the past to retrieve archives of popular culture, she uses science fiction to make projections about the future.  An award-winning filmmaker, Kiwanga’s documentary work has been nominated for two BAFTAs. She has exhibited internationally, including at Centre Georges Pompidou, the Glasgow Centre for Contemporary Arts, and the Kassel Documentary Film Festival.
