Nairobi Contemporary Art Institute (NCAI) is looking for a gallery manager with prior experience to join our team full time. The role encompases experience with logistics and management of the galleries exhibition space.
– 2-3 years’ experience working in an art institution/gallery
– Based in Nairobi
– Have a demonstrable interest in art, and knowledge of the East African art scene
– Good interpersonal skills to build effective working relations with artists, exhibition visitors, students etc
– Detail oriented and with a high level of organisational skills to manage, plan schedules etc
– Excellent administrative and communications skills, both written and verbal
– Experience of working in collaboration with peers and institutions
– Experience of setting and monitoring budgets
– Excellent ability to multi-task, delegate and prioritise within a busy working environment
– Strong ability to build team-spirit in the work place
– Confident working independently but also as part of a small team
– Experience of managing staff
