A History of Remembering, is an evening devoted to the various histories of people of Black African descent. This piece will explore how memory has shaped the current state of race,politics and culture.
If we do not remember who will?
Cassianne Law, Rachael Moore, and Isaiah Lopaz will tell tales of territories which include Maritius, The Cayman Islands, Germany, The Gullah Islands, Belgium, and the UK. They will speak in Creole, French, Spanish, Dutch, Patios, and English.
The Performance will be followed by a meal which is also connected to the African continent, or rooted in the diaspora. Over an exhibition of Brasilian Cuisine curated by Murah Soares, the founder of Forum Brasil, a Candomble temple, Capoeira studio, and community centre will prepare an amazing Brasilian feast with music featuring Minq.
This event is free and open to the public, but space is limited and requires email confirmation. If you would like to attend please reserve your space by sending a message with “A History of Remembering” as the subject of your email to kunsthalle@kh-berlin.de.
