Tate Modern presents an exhibition dedicated to the work of late Cuban American artist Ana Mendieta (1948 - 1985), including newly remastered films, early paintings, and late sculptural pieces. The show expands outside the gallery walls, embracing the artist’s deep relationship with the natural world.

Best known for her Silueta series, where she explored the presence and absence of the human body through photographs and films using natural materials such as fire, water and flowers.

Mendieta explored questions around displacement and identity. This exhibition shines a light on her trailblazing practice, reinforcing her standing as one of the most important artists of the 20th century.
