Born in 1979 in Kati (Mali), Bakary Diallo was a visual artist and filmmaker. In 2007, he began his studies at the conservatory of Arts and Multimedia in Bamako. Born in 1979 in Kati (Mali), Bakary Diallo was a visual artist and filmmaker. In 2007, he began his studies at the conservatory of Arts and Multimedia in Bamako. In 2010, he won the scholarship prize from the Lagardère Foundation with the film « les feuilles d’un temps », at the Fresnoy National Studio of Contemporary Arts in Tourcoing in France and also won the « Metropolis » prize at the Madatac in Madrid with his film « The light ». His works have been shown at international exhibitions and biennales such as the Encounters of African Photography in Bamako (2011), 17th Contemporary Art Festival SESC_Videobrasil (2011), Dak’Art (2012).

Diallo was one of the victims of the tragic airplane crash of Air Algérie, which occured in the North of Mali on July, the 24th 2014.
