Young Guns

Young Guns
Who are they these ‘Young Guns’? Where did they come from? Who are their mentors? What are their obsessions, their concerns, their dreams, their inspirations? Who are the vanguard? Do they speak for their generation?
This exhibition features new drawings, paintings, photography and video from 26 emerging artists in Nairobi. The artists work mostly in collectives and communal art spaces across the city. They are the new guard: politicized; pushing boundaries; exploring their identity; local and global concerns; war and peace; law and disorder; issues of masculinity and the artist’s role in society.
