WATA don PASS; Looking West is an exclusive Performance Event presenting four artists from West Africa. During three nights the artists Taiwo Aiyedogbon (NGA), Bernard Akoi-Jackson (GHA), Christian Etongo (CMR) and Odun Orimolade (NGA) invite the audience to experience four different worlds of art created inside the studio. The Performance Event WATA don PASS; Looking West is a curatorial collaboration between Lilith Performance Studio, Marianne Hultman, Oslo Kunstforening and Bisi Silva, CCA, Lagos. WATA don PASS; Looking West also includes artist talks at Inter Arts Center and a seminar at Moderna Museet Malmö. The artists Bernard Akoi-Jackson (GHA) and Odun Orimolade (NGA) talks about their artistic practise. Seminar: May 13, 1 pm – 6.30 pm at Moderna Museet Malmö With a starting point in the Berlin Conference in 1884-85, the seminar aims at learning more about Sweden-Norway’s foreign policy and its role during the conference. Also how our presence, especially in the Congo region, have inspired ideas and representations of the African continent in art in Sweden and Norway back then and in our present time. Artists, art historians, curators and scientists from Nigeria, Norway and Sweden will participate in the seminar. http://lilithperformancestudio.com
