IN-DISCIPLINE # 1

IN-DISCIPLINE # 1
IN-DISCIPLINE is a support program for creation and dissemination. It is aimed at visual artists in a first triennial phase in Africa before opening to other regions of the world. The pilot phase of the program will target artists from Benin # 1, followed by Côte d’Ivoire # 2 and Nigeria # 3. The program relies on Morocco and in particular Marrakesh as platform of international visibility and on structures strongly implicated in the countries created for the promotion of arts and culture.
For its first edition, IN-DISCIPLINE # 1 will be realized in partnership with the fair 1:54 (2018) in Marrakech and in close collaboration with Le Center, cultural and artistic place of COTONOU in Benin, directed by Dominique Zinkpé. The Montresso Foundation * invites Dominique ZINKPE to select and sponsor five Beninese artists Ishola Akpo, Charly d’Almeida, Gérard Quenum and Nathanael Vodouhe for an artist residency. From these exchanges and artistic discussions, will be born the first exhibition “IN-DISCIPLINE # 1” such a space of freedom beyond the barriers, presented at the fair 1:54 in February 2018. The strength of the program is therefore to combine research and laboratory times at times of direct contact with professionals and with the international art market.
