Critical tour through the Africa exhibition in the Bode Museum

The Humboldt Forum in the reconstructed Berlin Palace is to express the “equal rights of cultures” from the end of 2019 with the exhibition of cultural treasures and ritual objects from all over the world. The largest part of the collection, with which Berlin and the Federal Republic want to decorate, has been “acquired” in the colonial context of injustice. Alexander von Humboldt himself was one of the first Prussians to dubiously adopt thousands of natural and cultural objects, even human bones.

As part of the “No Humboldt 21” campaign, Berlin Postkolonial invites to a critical tour through the exhibition “On the way to the Humboldt Forum: Incomparable – Art from Africa in the Bode Museum”.
