Victoria Siddall said: ‘Eva’s passion and intelligence, as well as her insightful understanding of how art fairs work, not only for galleries but also for the wider art world ecology, made her a clear choice for the role of Artistic Director, Frieze London. Throughout our conversations she has shown a deep understanding of and commitment to galleries, whose strength and success are at the heart of our fairs. The breadth and depth of her international network also make her a strong match for such a global platform. I am really looking forward to working with her and witnessing her spirit and energy in action.’

Langret commented: ‘Frieze London is known for championing era-defining, critically engaged work produced by today’s most significant artists. I am thrilled to join the trailblazing team of curators, thinkers and organisers who have shaped the fair into becoming one of the most vibrant, global platforms for contemporary art. The fair collaborates with the most exciting international galleries and I am delighted to support them in achieving their goals. I also look forward to widening Frieze London’s long-standing relationships with local and international artists, curators, collectors and art-lovers alike, and together celebrate the unique creative spirit of London’s diverse artistic community.’

Langret joins Frieze from London-based galleryTiwani Contemporary where she curated ‘Passing Through’, Maren Hassinger’s first solo show outside of the USA, and collaborated with artists including Simone Leigh, Zina Saro-Wiwa, Theo Eshetu, Kapwani Kiwanga and ruby onyinyechi amanze. Previously she held positions at The Delfina Foundation and The Wapping Project / Bankside.
