Tristany Mundu: City and community

Tristany Mundu: City and community
This tour dives into the artist’s universe from the elements on display. Tristany Mundu (b. 1995) is a Portuguese musician and producer of Angolan descent who explores unfeasible, marginalized and sometimes romanticized realities.
He grew up and currently lives on the Sintra rail corridor, on the outskirts of Lisbon, whose reality he represents through his gaze and the gaze of the people around him. He is a founding member of the Unidigrazz collective, composed of young people who were born, raised and live in the parish of Algueirão-Mem Martins, one of the most populous in the country.
City around the City is a video installation commissioned by CAM. Through a triple projection and a set of textile pieces that he calls flags, the artist fuses the real with the surreal and explores distinct visualities, marked by vibrant colors and deep symbolism, reflecting the cultural richness of the city in constant movement.
