Silence between the Lines: Anagrams of emancipated Futures

‘Silence between the Lines’ is a thoughtful  selection of artists who are at the  centre of an emergent wave of contemporary  art in Ghana. Their varied visions, radical in their conception and execution,  can be understood as anagrams of a transformative future.

Contemporary art in Ghana is experiencing new international  attention. The new attention is fuelled by the growing importance  of the Kumasi College of Art as a leading  hub of contemporary art in Ghana and West Africa.  This show celebrates this new international success and is the first major exhibition of its kind in  Kumasi.

Among the 17 artists on show are Ibrahim Mahama, Dorothy Amenuke and  Bernard Akoi-Jackson who are key features  in international and global scale exhibitions and  projects in such venues as  the Saatchi Gallery, Stedelijk Museum, the 1:54 Contemporary Art Fair and upcoming Biennales.

‘Silence between the Lines’ will open on 19th February 2015 from 6:30–9pm. It will continue to be on show from 20–23 February 2015.
