Barnard Gallery presents PAINT MATTERS, an exhibition of selected works highlighting recent developments in painting by the following emerging and established South African artists. Highlighting some recent developments in painting by selected emerging and established South African artists, PAINT MATTERS considers and celebrates painting as a valid and vital medium in contemporary art. Living in a fast paced world where advancing technologies and rapid developments in new media seem, for some time to have overshadowed the discipline of painting it has, of late been exciting and refreshing to witness something of a global resurgence of the medium - a reminder to us that in fact PAINT MATTERS. The exhibition includes work by Alexia Vogel, Jan-Henri Booyens, Virginia MacKenny, Asha Zero, Tracy Payne, Jaco van Schalkwyk, Sarah Biggs, Khaya Witbooi, Ryan Hewett, Ndikhumbule Ngqinambi, Katherine Spindler, Nike Romano, Alexandra Karakashian and Katherine Bull. http://barnardgallery.com
