More Aphrike #6: »Shifting Spaces«

The event series »More Aphrike« invites contemporary African and African-inspired artists and creatives to Hamburg to celebrate cultural encounters and exchange in design, visual arts, fashion and music. The sixth part entitled »Shifting Spaces« focuses on urban development and megacities on the African continent and takes place on the 16th of December.

Nowhere else in the world cities will grow faster in the next decades than on the African continent. According to the UN in 2050 they will be housing one billion people in total. Today there are living 500 million inhabitants. How can these new megacities be planned in the right way? How will daily life change for the people there? Together with the urbanist Victoria Okoye, photographer Logo Oluwamuyiwa Adeyemi and via soundscapes of the artist Emeka Ogboh M.Bassy wants to take a visual-acoustic-intellectual dive into the cities Accra and Lagos.
