CLOSE UP ETHIOPIA

CLOSE UP ETHIOPIA

26 February 2014

Closes: 24 April 2014

With the exhibition 'Close Up Ethiopia' GALLERY LISTROS presents five young photographers, who left the beaten track to highlight the wealth, the secrets and the diversity of Ethiopia. The exhibition features works by six young photographers who explored the country in the last 10 years as part of various photo projects. In addition to photographs by Dominik Fleischmann ( D) works of Judith Schenk, Mercedes Debeyne (H ), Sebastian Pushed Bert (D) , Pablo Ruiz Holst ( D) and Yero Adugna Eticha ( Ä ) are presented. Their pictures, portraits, snapshots and documentation show a country caught between tradition and modernity , between past and new perspectives and create a kaleidoscopic image of a country in transition . The photographers come close to the breathtaking landscapes, the people, their ways of life and rites and convert them into images. The preoccupation with the stranger always implies a questioning of one's identity and cultural character . Opening: 27. February, 7pm www.galerie.listros.de
