Barkley Hendricks: Works from the Collection

The Nasher Museum of Art at Duke University presents Barkley L. Hendricks: Works from the Collection as a tribute to the artist.

Hendricks, who lived and worked in New London, Conn., died April 18, 2017, from a cerebral hemorrhage. The artist was a great friend of the Nasher Museum. The landmark exhibition Barkley L. Hendricks: Birth of the Cool, the first career survey of his paintings, was organized at the Nasher in 2008. That exhibition traveled to four other museums around the country and brought renewed attention to Barkley’s important career. Now, Nasher will show his works as a tribute to his life and work until June 18.
