CIMAM - The International Committee for Museums and Collections of Modern Art invites curators, researchers, and museum professionals working in modern and contemporary art museums to apply for a Travel Grant to attend the 58th CIMAM Annual Conference, taking place in Harare, Zimbabwe, under the theme Museums Beyond Limits: Imagining Repair Knowledges. The program supports professional development, international visibility, and participation in global museum dialogue for professionals from emerging and developing economies.
The Travel Grant is open to museum directors, curators, researchers, and independent curators whose professional activity is related to the functions of an art museum. Applicants must reside in countries classified by ICOM as Groups C, D, or E. While professionals at all career stages are welcome to apply, priority is given to junior directors and curators with fewer than ten years of experience.
Selected participants receive conference registration, round-trip economy travel, four nights of accommodation in one of CIMAM’s recommended hotels, and CIMAM membership for the 2026-2028 term. Applications must be submitted in English through the online platform and include a short bio or résumé, motivation statement, list of exhibitions and publications from the last five years, and two recommendation letters or emails. The deadline to apply is Monday, May 4th 2026 at 8am (CEST). Apply here.
