*New Year, New Perspectives!*

2014 fills the agenda for contemporary art from African perspectives with fresh and exciting events to come!

 

News: 

*C&* will be media partner of the major show “The Divine Comedy: Heaven, Hell, Purgatory revisited by Contemporary African Artists” at the renowned MMK Museum für Moderne Kunst Frankfurt am Main. More than 50 artists from more than 20 African countries reconsider the classic of world literature – Dante’s “Divine Comedy” – from 21 March through 24 July, 2014. As part of the show, *C&* will launch exclusive interviews with participating artists soon.

 

Features: 

As the Dakar Biennale is coming up this year in May, *C&* starts a little series, introducing young talents and renowned artists from Dakar. THIS MONTH, the young artist and photographer Mame-Diarra Niang gives insights into the changing landscapes of Dakar.

*C&* talked to Athi-Patra Ruga who is currently showing his work in Cape Town and Berlin about his artistic and performative practice.
