Opening at Paramount Pictures Studios in Hollywood from February 14 through February 17, 2019, Frieze Los Angeles will join Frieze New York, Frieze London and Frieze Masters at the forefront of the international art fair calendar, celebrating Los Angeles’ position as a global arts center and destination.

Taking place in a bespoke structure designed by Kulapat Yantrasast, Frieze Los Angeles is led by Bettina Korek (Executive Director, Frieze Los Angeles) working with Victoria Siddall (Director, Frieze Fairs).

Hamza Walker, Executive Director of the non-profit arts space LAXART, joins as curator of Frieze Talks and Frieze Music. Taking place daily in the Sherry Lansing Theater of Paramount Pictures Studios, and throughout Los Angeles, Walker’s program of conversations and music will highlight Los Angeles as a place of interdisciplinary experimentation that extends into the mediums of sound, poetry and performance. Walker, along with Aram Moshayedi, co-curated the “Made in L.A.” biennial at the Hammer Museum in 2016.

Alongside Hamza Walker Ali Subotnick was selected as curator for Frieze Projects, a site-specific program of artists commissions and Frieze Film (program to be announced in the Fall).

Around 70 exhibitors have been selected and invited by a committee of peers to represent a cutting-edge selection of the galleries and artists from Los Angeles, across the United States and around the world.

Los Angeles Galleries
The fair will feature Los Angeles’ defining galleries, from the city’s most established spaces to its youngest, including Blum & Poe, The Box, Château Shatto, Commonwealth and Council, Freedman Fitzpatrick, François Ghebaly, Hannah Hoffmann Gallery, Kayne Griffin Corcoran, David Kordansky, LA Louver, Matthew Marks Gallery, Park View/Paul Soto, Parker Gallery, The Pit, Regen Projects, Marc Selwyn Fine Art, Night Gallery, and Susanne Vielmetter Los Angeles Projects. A subsidized section will feature the best young galleries from across the city.

US and International Highlights
Leading galleries from across the US and around the world include Tanya Bonakdar Gallery, Sadie Coles HQ, Gagosian, Hauser & Wirth, Gallery Hyundai, Marian Goodman Gallery, kurimanzutto, Lévy Gorvy, Lisson Gallery, Luhring Augustine, Pace, Galerie Eva Presenhuber, Galerie Thaddaeus Ropac, Sprüth Magers and White Cube, many of whom have participated in Frieze Art Fair since its inception. The participation of these exhibitors offers a key opportunity for those who live, work in, and visit to experience Los Angeles in conversation with a global art audience, joining together in a unique, shared setting.

Frieze Week in Los Angeles
Similar to Frieze fairs in London and New York, Frieze Los Angeles provides a cultural experience that will extend beyond the fair at Paramount Pictures Studios, built on partnerships and programs to encourage local engagement. From neighborhood gallery walks to collaborations with local organizations, Frieze Week offers an invitation for international collectors, curators, and artists to experience Los Angeles’ widespread, multifaceted and ever-evolving art community.
